Your next practice notebook
A Tonara alternative for music teachers and students
Looking for a new home for weekly assignments and practice logs? Maestro Planner gives you and your students one shared notebook: assign the work, record what happened at home, and arrive at the next lesson with a place to start.
The demo uses fictional data and needs no account. Maestro Planner is an independent product, unaffiliated with Tonara.
Keep the practice week connected
Assignments attach to ongoing practice items. Students record time, improvements and weak spots, with optional confirmed tempo, beat unit and passage. Teachers can review those details before the next lesson.

Teacher Pro is $10/month or $100/year, with no student roster cap and students included. It includes 25 GB of media storage. Start on Teacher Free with up to 3 active students during pre-launch.

Start with the work your students are playing now
Choose a few students and their current pieces, scales or exercises. Keep any older notes and recordings you already have as a separate reference while you establish the new routine.
Connect teacher and student accounts
Create your teacher account and generate an invite code from Students. Each student creates their own account and redeems their code on the Connect page.
Set one clear assignment
Have the student add their active practice items, then attach those items to an assignment. Name the passage, the practice focus and what you want the student to listen for.
Review the first week together
Students log sessions with duration, improvements and difficulties. Before the lesson, read those logs and choose where to begin. Use that conversation to shape the next assignment.
Use the getting-started guide for account setup, or explore practice guides by instrument and method for assignment ideas.
Questions about switching
Can I import my Tonara history automatically?
Maestro Planner does not currently offer a Tonara importer. Start by adding current practice items and assignments manually; keep any historical records you already have separately.
Can I try Maestro Planner with a few students first?
During pre-launch, Teacher Free includes assignments, practice logging and teacher review for up to 3 active students, 1 pending invite at a time, and 500 MB of media storage. No credit card is required. Teacher Pro and Studio are optional paid upgrades; students do not need a separate subscription.
Do my students need to buy a subscription or install an app?
Students have no separate subscription. Maestro Planner works in a modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Each student uses their own account to connect with their teacher and log practice.
Will it replace every tool I used in Tonara?
Evaluate the parts of your teaching routine you depend on. Maestro Planner connects assignments, practice logs and teacher review, with optional recordings, score annotations, streaks and badges. Try the sample notebook and a small student pilot to check the fit before moving your whole studio.
Ready to track music practice more clearly?
Maestro Planner keeps assignments, session logs, and practice progress visible in one place — for teachers and students.
